Is the King Still King?

I started this journey with one question: Is the Kaboo Mantis King GT still worth it after 1,700 miles and 2.5 years?
This scooter has taken everything I’ve thrown at it and asked for more. It’s powerful, nimble, lightweight for its class, surprisingly durable, and still looks futuristic in 2025. The fact that I can reliably hit 45 mph today with zero motor issues, zero battery degradation, zero frame problems says everything.

Could the display's startup behavior be better? Yes.
Could I use a bigger battery? Absolutely.
However, at 75 pounds, 60 volts, dual 1100W motors, hydraulic brakes, adjustable suspension, RGB lighting, and real-world durability, nothing else in this weight class compares, not in 2023, nor in 2025.

This Kaboo Mantis King GT review covers 1,700 miles of real-world testing.
And here’s the real kicker:
At $1,900 today, it’s an even better deal than when I bought it for $2,400.
If you’re choosing between lightweight scooters that max out at 30 mph, or hyper-scooters that weigh 120+ pounds and require a forklift… the Kaboo Mantis King GT sits in the perfect middle ground.
It’s the sweet spot.
It’s the balance point.
It’s the daily rider that still gives you hyper-scooter performance without hyper-scooter weight.
After 1,700 miles?
The King hasn’t lost its crown - It tightened it.
Should You Buy It in 2025?
Here’s the breakdown:
Buy it if you want:
✔ A fast electric scooter capable of real 45 mph ✔
Lightweight performance at 75 lbs ✔
A proven long-term commuter ✔
Adjustable suspension that handles rough streets ✔
Powerful dual motors with excellent hill climb ✔
Premium components without the $3,000+ price tag✔

Skip it if you need:
✘ 40+ mile long-range rides
✘ NFC locking or advanced security features
✘ A hyper-scooter over 60 mph
✘ A super lightweight 40–50 lb scooter
This scooter is designed for riders who want a powerful, durable, mid-weight performance scooter that can withstand real-world abuse.
And after 1,700 miles? I trust this machine with my life because it’s already saved my life more than once.

Final Kaboo Mantis King GT Review Verdict
If you're looking for the best mid-weight e-scooter of 2025, something that can:
Keep up with traffic
Handle brutal streets
Hit 45 mph reliably
Survive long-term abuse
Look good doing it
The Kaboo Mantis King GT is still one of the best electric scooters ever built.
And after everything this scooter has been through, the potholes, the abuse, the winters, the summers, the hill climbs, the high-speed runs, the close calls, the daily commutes through one of the harshest cities on Earth, the answer is actually pretty simple!
The Verdict: Absolutely. Unequivocally. The King is still the King.
And if Kaboo ever drops a 40Ah version?
Game over. The throne is theirs forever.
